I just got back from a walk to the Post Office and only have one thing to say: lilacs.*




*I hope my excitement for spring flowers does not jinx anything weatherwise speaking.

That went well.

What can a person do on a day like today?

Not in any particular order:

+Throw open the doors and actually mop the floors
+Eat fabulous dim sum
+Do a little shopping
+Take a long walk
+Plan and make dinner for someone
+Listen to music at stun volume
+Chase cats with a vacuum cleaner
+Drink pom/blueberry juice

This would never happen while watching Rock of Love.

It's hailing. Hard.

It had better not snow.

Usually, painting is a chore that I don't like. It's messy, takes all kinds of prep and always ends up being a bigger job than planned for. Don't get me wrong, I love a fresh coat of paint whether it's just a clean white or some deep vibrant red, I just don't like doing it.

However, there are times when watching someone else paint can be just delightful.

I just got some new shiny red earbuds thanks to a recommendation from zenspider.

I ate the food I had intended for lunch for breakfast.

So lunch today consists of a blackberry/blueberry smoothie and two Godiva truffles.

I feel oblique today.

I feel all dizzy, spinny and woozy. Not in a fun way.

While I was out having breakfast and then participating in the caucus*, Betty was locked in the front closet**.

I finally got to wear my new shoes for my indoor cycling class. It made such a difference. I can already feel it in my hamstrings. I know I won’t be able to walk tomorrow. Awesome.

My checkbook is usually balanced to the penny. This comes from having a father with a slight gambling problem. Tonight, though, I was $15.25 off. I think I know where the problems are yet I am vexed by the fact I have to wait until tomorrow to resolve them.

I received a text message while I was unsuccessfully balancing my checkbook that made me laugh hard enough to cause a dark chocolate peanut M&M to become lodged in my left sinus.

I am going to get a promotion at work. This is for things I have been doing for the last 4 or 5 months. I wasn’t really excited when my boss mentioned it to me, it all seemed anticlimactic and overdue.

My cuticles are incredibly dry.

I’ve had a really nice weekend.

It actually started on Thursday night with some hurty fun with one of these. Followed by some ridiculous fun watching Shaolin Soccer and staying up far too late.

Somehow, I made it through 6 hours of conference calls at work on Friday and so happily had a yummy dinner and grocery store porn with nerdygirlfriday.


Saturday was spent eating a ton of Monkey Bread

and then playing with the little monsters.


I spent the rest of the day with a dear friend helping her with a special project.


Today, I got lots of bags of goodies for my tummy at Trader Joe’s and a bag of goodies to make me feel pretty from Ulta.

To top it off, I went to see Sweeny Todd with my friend CJ and delighted in her horrified reaction. She couldn’t imagine a musical being so dark and bloody!

Now, I am thinking about dinner and having a quiet night at home watching Project Runaway and preparing for the whirlwind that is Monday.

Normally, I don't make resolutions - they reek of judgement and often just set one up for failure.

However, I am making one this year: do not forget to turn off the 6 AM alarm on your days off.

I want a big steak for lunch. I don't have one in the frig. The cats refuse to go to the store and I couldn't possibly drag myself there. Seattle does not have a steak delivery service that I know of. I am sadly nibbling on jelly beans.
